چکیده

Ensemble methods improve accuracy by combining the predictions of a set of different hypotheses. However, there is an important shortcoming associated with ensemble methods. Huge amounts of memory are required to store a set of multiple hypotheses. In this work we devise an ensemble method that partially solves this drawbacks. The key point is that components share their common parts. For this goal, we employ a multi-tree, a structure that can simultaneously contain an ensemble of decision trees, but with the advantage that decision trees share some conditions. To construct this multi-tree we define an algorithm based on a beam search with several extraction criteria and with several forgetting policies for the suspended nodes. Finally, we compare the behaviour of this ensemble method with some well-known methods for generating hypothesis ensembles.

Classifier Ensembles for Changing Environments

We consider strategies for building classifier ensembles for non-stationary environments where the classification task changes during the operation of the ensemble. Individual classifier models capable of online learning are reviewed. The concept of “forgetting” is discussed. Online ensembles and strategies suitable for changing environments are summarized.

Extraction of Respiratory Signal Based on Image Clustering and Intensity Parameters at Radiotherapy with External Beam: A Comparative Study

Background: Since tumors located in thorax region of body mainly move due to respiration, in the modern radiotherapy, there have been many attempts such as; external markers, strain gage and spirometer represent for monitoring patients’ breathing signal. With the advent of fluoroscopy technique, indirect methods were proposed as an alternative approach to extract patients’ breathing signals...

Simulation Studies on the Vertical Emittance Growth at the Existing Atf Extraction Beamline*

Significant beam intensity-dependence of the vertical emittance growth was experimentally observed at the Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) at KEK extraction beamline. This paper presents the simulations of possible vertical emittance growth sources, particularly in the extraction channel, where the magnets are shared by both the ATF extraction beamline and its damping ring. The vertical emittanc...

Two New Local Search Strategies for Minimum Vertex Cover

In this paper, we propose two new strategies to design efficient local search algorithms for the minimum vertex cover (MVC) problem. There are two main drawbacks in state-ofthe-art MVC local search algorithms: First, they select a pair of vertices to be exchanged simultaneously, which is time consuming; Second, although they use edge weighting techniques, they do not have a strategy to decrease...

Efficient Implementation of Beam-Search Incremental Parsers

Beam search incremental parsers are accurate, but not as fast as they could be. We demonstrate that, contrary to popular belief, most current implementations of beam parsers in fact run in O(n2), rather than linear time, because each statetransition is actually implemented as an O(n) operation. We present an improved implementation, based on Tree Structured Stack (TSS), in which a transition is...
